Arte de proceso y arte de producto en la educación artística
En la educación artística infantil existen diferentes maneras de acercarse al arte.
Dos de las más conocidas son el arte de proceso (arte libre o experimental) y el arte de producto (clases guiadas).
Ambos enfoques ayudan a los niños a desarrollar habilidades artísticas, pero lo hacen de formas diferentes.

Process art
Activities that focus on the experience and process of art making. It is an open-ended art, meaning that children are free to choose what materials to use, how to use them, and what to create.

– Promotes experimentation and self-direction.

– Promotes cognitive flexibility.
CONS
– May not satisfy children who have difficulties with creativity or fine motor skills.
– It can create a feeling of frustration due to a lack of closure of the project

Product art
Structured activities where there is a common result and where technique is essential to reach the final work. It is a type of art where step by step is important and classes are directed with clear and visual instructions so that the child can reproduce something specific. A path where creativity meets intention. The child can feel achievement and improvement in their skills.

What can we conclude?
Creatividad y técnica: dos enfoques complementarios
Framing the debate as a choice between process art or product art is a mistake. The real value lies in recognizing the contributions of both to a child’s development. At LEART we believe in sharing the knowledge gained from both approaches so that we can create an art experience for your child that is as diverse and enriching as their imagination allows. So rather than asking “which is better?” perhaps the question should be “how can we integrate the best of both worlds?”
Every work of art created by a child should be valued and appreciated equally.
